Auckland's West Coast
DAY ONE • Arrival in Auckland
  • Arrival at Auckland International Airport
  • Transfer to Kauri Cliffs Lodge, Matauri Bay, Northland
  • Golf, Massage, Dinner at the Lodge* 

 

*As this is your arrival day the itinerary schedule depends on the time of the arrival. You will most likely appreciate some easy, relaxing time at the lodge. In case of a late arrival there will be an alternate plan in place for your first day of Moana itinerary.

Cape Reinga Lighthouse
DAY TWO • Giant Sand Dunes & Cape Reinga
  • Breakfast at Kauri Cliffs
  • Flight or Car Trip to Giant Sand Dunes & Cape Reinga 
  • Sand-boarding down the giant dunes for the adventurers
  • Visit Cape Reinga with its famous lighthouse - the tip of New Zealand where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean collide. 
  • Transfer to Whangaroa Harbour, board the yacht
  • Cruise to Pekapeka Bay on the yacht to stay overnight

DAY THREE • Bay of Islands & Cavalli Island
  • Big Sailing day to Cavalli Islands, Bay of Islands  (Russell)
  • Visit the seaside village Piha, Russell and Waitangi Treaty Grounds
  • Afternoon and night at Motuarohia / Roberton Island
Poor Knights Marine Reserve
DAY FOUR • Poor Knights Marine Reserve
  • Sailing to Poor Knights Marine Reserve, 35 miles south east of Cape Brett, exploring the world beneath the waves full of  caves, arches, tunnels and sheer cliffs with the great variety of habitat
  • Afternoon sail to Whangarei or Tutukaka 
  • Accommodation: Ara Roa Lodge

 

Hundertwasser Art Center Whangarei
DAY FIVE • Whangarei
  • Visit Hundertwasser Art Centre  in Whangarei
  • Explore Māori Heritage and Culture withTu Tika Tours
  • Alternative: a day hiking tour to Whangarei Heads
  • Evening and night in Ara Roa Lodge

 

Aotea Great Barrier Island
DAY SIX • Great Barrier Island / Aotea
  • Sailing to Great Barrier Island.
  • Tramping, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Surfing, Snorkelling, Swimming, Horse Riding and Trails Walking
  • Night on a yacht in Port FitzRoy

 

Gibbs Farm Art Object
DAY SEVEN • Gibbs Farm
  • Sail to Omaha - (Omaha Boat Ramp)
  • From there enjoy a day trip to Gibbs Farm, an open-air sculpture park, for a cultural & art experience
  • Evening and night in Woodhouse Mountain Lodge

 

Hahei Hot Water Beach
DAY EIGHT • Coromandel Peninsula
  • Sailing from Omaha Boat Ramp to Coromandel Peninsula: Coromandel Forest Park, Cathedral Cove and cruise through the islands
  • Hahei, with Hot Water Beach, visit to Whitianga, Coromandel’s shopping centre with boutiques and quaint cafés
  • Night at the boat in Woolshed Bay
Waiheke Island Vineyard
DAY NINE • Waiheke Island
  • Sail out to Rangipukea Island
  • Experience a gorgeous beach there or fantastic views of Hauraki Gulf from the hill
  • Continue to Waiheke Island, the Martha's Vineyard of New Zealand and one the best wine regions to visit by a yacht
  • Anchor overnight in Putiki Bay or check in to Delamore Lodge

DAY TEN • Explore Auckland
  • An early start to explore Hauraki Gulf with its many protected islands
  • On to Kawua Island, anchor in the pleasant Mansion House Bay and see the resident peacocks.
  • Later head to Auckland, a vibrant, multi-cultural city inhabited by nearly a third of New Zealand’s population
