Payment

To confirm your package Newztravel requires a deposit of 25% of the total package cost. This booking deposit is non-refundable. The deposit secures airfares, accommodation and activity bookings etc. Full payment for the package is required 60 days before tour commencement. If a booking is made less than 60 days before tour commencement, then payment is required in full at the time of booking. All prices are quoted in NZ dollars unless otherwise specified. Prices include New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 15%. Payment can be made by direct bank (telegraphic) transfers, or credit card. Payments made by credit card will incur a transaction fee of 3%. You authorise us to charge all fees incurred by you in relation to the Services provided to your nominated credit card. If payment is not received from the card issuer or its agent for any reason, you agree to pay us all amounts due immediately on demand.

Cancellations

It is recommended that you take out travel insurance covering cancellation. 25% of the total cost of the package is in any event nonrefundable. In the event of a cancellation 30 to 60 days prior to tour commencement, we will refund 50% of the package price. In the event of a cancellation 29 days or less prior to tour commencement, there will be no refund. This cancellation policy is subject to change during peak season and special events, in this case you will be notified prior to confirmation of booking.

Furthermore, if you want to change, defer or cancel any details of your Services booked through us (such as changing to a different Supplier or changing your travel date) as a result of an event outside of your control, we will do our best to help but cannot guarantee that changes will be permitted by the relevant Supplier or that any refund will be provided. Requests for a refund of monies paid for any Services booked through us will be governed by the terms and conditions of the relevant Supplier. You should familiarise yourself with the cancellation and refund policy of the applicable Supplier prior to booking. We cannot and will not provide any greater refund than we receive from the applicable Supplier (if any).

Where we incur any liability for a cancellation fee or charge for any booking which you cancel or amend, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee or charge in addition to any service fee we may charge.

Insurance

You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to arrange travel insurance. We strongly recommend that such travel insurance includes cover for cancellation for any reason, including travel disruptions.

Limitation of Liability

We expect you to be honest with us in assessing your level of fitness and abilities. The activities you will be undertaking can be demanding and involve the risk of serious injury or death. There are other risks such as theft or damage to property. Newztravel will not be responsible for any loss or injury whatsoever that you or parties associated with you may suffer. You and all members of your party will be required to sign a release form prior to commencement of tour activities.

Where our liability cannot be excluded, our liability is capped at $1000. If the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) applies, these Terms shall be read subject to your rights under the CGA. Where we are arranging Services on your behalf and/or you are acquiring such Services for the purposes of a business (as provided in sections 2 and 43 of the CGA), the CGA shall not apply.

Release Form

I hereby acknowledge that Newztravel will not be responsible for any loss or injury (including death) that I may suffer as a result of taking a tour with Newztravel. I agree to make no claim against Newztravel arising out of the tour and I further agree that no third party may make a claim through me or on my behalf. The provisions of this release shall apply to Newztravel, its directors, employees and agents. Should any dispute arise between the parties such dispute will be governed exclusively by the laws of New Zealand.
